Episode 10: Happy Halloween!
With it being just a few days before Ghosts, Witches, Goblins and Zombies begin their epic search for candy; this week’s episode of Sit Down Standard is all about Halloween! We look back on our favorite costumes, ghost stories and paranormal events. We even discuss a ton of the amazing costumes from our awesome listeners! Next, we chat about our favorite scary movies (Cabin in the Woods, Silence of the Lambs, Paranormal Activity, Saw) and highlight the video games that always gave us a good scare (Resident Evil, Dead Space, Silent Hill, Slender, Metal Gear Solid). Finally, with our 3-month weight-loss challenge halfway through, we check in to see everyone’s progress…or lack thereof.
In “Whatcha Doing” we find out that Gerald, after watching, and re-watching the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, is finishing up his awesome Metal Earth models of the ships featured in Episode VII; Jordan, in light of the recent release of Legend Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, replays Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons on his Nintendo 3DS, and David discusses the under-appreciated Star Wars: Clone Wars 2D Cartoon (Full series at: https://youtu.be/c__EdPiU0No), as well as his early impressions of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate!

Again, we're excited to be working with the non-profit charity, “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” to help bring awareness to child literacy. The goal is simply to encourage parents to read 1000 books to their newborn, infant or toddler before they reach kindergarten, to promote literacy and parent-child bonding. Check out their website http://1000booksbeforekindgarten.org for reading logs, library programs, book lists and much more.
